Advanced Materials was established in 2021 as a corporate venture with the mission of bringing innovative materials technology to improve today’s quality of life. At Advanced Material, our raw graphene is sourced by leveraging on our patented Coke-to-Graphene technology, that converts petroleum coke – carbon rich waste byproduct of oil refining activities into valuable graphene.

With this technology, our approach to producing this material of the future brings several environmental benefits:

Waste To Value

By turning waste product into value, we can produce graphene at lower cost than graphite mining or other regular graphene production.

High Quality

Conventional processes produce high-layered graphene, making it primarily graphite. Our process can produce few-layered graphene (FLG) at commercial scale.

Energy Efficient

Our proprietary coke-to-graphene process uses 70% less energy than regular graphitization processes.

Environmentally Friendly

Our process uses waste as feedstock and runs on grid power with no greenhouse emissions.

Making Waves at Malaysia Maritime Week 2023

STEAR made a notable impact at Malaysia Maritime Week 2023 (MMW23) where it opened its very first booth, which attracted the attention of industry stakeholders and key players.

MMW23 was hosted by the Malaysia Marine Department and supported by the Ministry of Transport. The event was held from 20 to 23 June 2023, and delved into maritime industry’s pressing challenges, both in the Malaysian waters and globally.

The highlight of STEAR’s participation was a visit from the Deputy Minister of Transport, YB Datuk Hj Hasbi Habibollah, with whom the team shared the functionality of STEAR’s web-based logistics platform and how it can contribute towards lean and sustainable maritime operations.
